Now Politics: the Political Opinions of Thomas Sarebbenonnato

This is data collected by the Washington Post concerning on-duty police officers who have shot and killed a civilian. Herein are no facts concerning persons killed by means other than firing a weapon; nor is it about anyone killed after/while in Police custody.

According to the data collected yearly by the Washington Post, 992 persons in the United States were shot and killed by the police in 2018.

452 were White. This figure is 46% of all those shot and killed. 229 were Black, or 23% of those shot and killed were black. 164 of the 992 total were Hispanic; 40 were Other; 107 were unknown. For Hispanic, those figures include White and non-White Hispanic.

A total of 47 unarmed persons were killed; 33 were shot and killed while holding toy weapons––and having a toy weapon does not count as unarmed. 35 shooting incidents were recorded where information on armed…
