Impeachment is a Process; Impeached is not Convicted

  • The Constitution gives the House of Representatives the sole power to impeach an official of the federal government, including the President.
  • Articles of Impeachment are drafted by the House Judiciary Committee.
  • After they are drafted by the Judiciary Committee of the House, they are presented for a vote by the House.
  • This so far is the process of impeachment.
  • If the vote is in favor of furthering the impeachment process, then the official is said to be impeached.
  • Only Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were impeached.
  • Richard Nixon’s impeachment process never reach a House vote due to his resignation.
  • Both Johnson and Clinton were spared removal from Office by Senate vote.
  • The Republicans are stalling on a Minimum Wage Act because of the Impeachment process brought on by the Democrats.
  • If the Republicans got behind a Minimum Wage Act raising the federal minimum wage; and if they opened bankruptcy to a number of student loans, or granting forgiveness, they would win the next election hands down.
  • The problem with the former two coming to be is that the Republicans are just too stupid, greedy and narrow-minded to imagine such a scheme.
